“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days..”

Daniel 6:10

In the face of death, under immense societal pressure, Daniel humbled himself in obedience to God and prayed on his knees.

Three times a day, in humility, obedience, and repentance. Through his prayer, God worked a miracle and an entire country turned to Him.

We – the church – must pray like Daniel. For our own lives, for our nation, and for the world.

Three Times a Day

Daniel prayed three times a day. We’ll do the same. At 7am, Noon, and 8pm. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, pause for just a moment and humbly ask God for His will to be done in this nation and in your life.

“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray and cry aloud: and HE shall hear my voice”

Psalm 55:17

In Submission and Repentance

Daniel prayed on his knees. A posture of humility and submission to God’s sovereignty. This how we should pray as well. You may not be able to physically kneel but bow your hearts towards God wherever you are and beg for his will to be done. Kneeling is an outward symbol of an inner posture but it’s the heart that matters.

In The Lord’s Words

Jesus himself taught us how to pray. Many of us learned The Lord’s Prayer when we were children. It is a prayer of submission, of petition, and of hope.

“After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen”

Matthew 6:9-13

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 John 5:14

We Pray In Power and Love

America is in crisis. Its biblical foundations are crumbling and its core is rotting. But we don’t pray in fear. We pray because God is mighty and His word says that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.“ We pray because we love our country and believe that God’s way is the right path for this nation.

We Pray In Confidence

We pray, just like Daniel did, with confidence that God hears our prayers and will answer them. We pray for God’s will to be done in our country. For His kingdom to come and for Him to deliver us from the evil that is overtaking our nation. We pray these things knowing that He hears our prayers.
